Eligibility for OSAP and TSS

Trade Assess Australia delivers approved TRA assessment services for selected skills assessment pathways. Eligibility depends on your nominated occupation, qualifications, employment history, passport country, and visa purpose.

Offshore Skills Assessment Program (OSAP)

OSAP is generally for applicants requiring a skills assessment to support permanent skilled migration to Australia.

Applicants should check that their occupation and passport country or region are listed for OSAP before applying.

Temporary Skills Shortage (TSS)

TSS skills assessments are generally for eligible applicants who require a skills assessment for an employer-sponsored visa purpose.

Note that eligibility requirements vary by occupation and pathway. Some occupations may require practical or technical assessment stages, and additional evidence may be required to verify qualifications or employment history.

Before You Apply

Before starting a skills assessment application, applicants should confirm whether:

Their intended visa pathway requires a skills assessment
TRA is the correct assessing authority for their nominated occupation
Their nominated occupation is available under the relevant TRA program
Their passport country or region is eligible for the program
They can provide sufficient evidence of their identity, employment history, qualifications and training, and trade skills
They understand the assessment stages that may apply, including documentary evidence review, technical interview, and practical assessment, where required

Evidence Readiness

Applicants should be prepared to provide clear and verifiable evidence to support their application. Depending on the program and occupation, this may include:

identity documents
passport details
qualification or trade training documents
employment references or statements of service
payslips, tax records, or other employment evidence
occupational licence or registration evidence, where applicable
workplace evidence, where required

Additional evidence may be requested if the documents provided are incomplete, unclear, inconsistent, or insufficient to support the assessment.
