How do I know which program and/or pathway applies to me?

The correct pathway depends on your occupation, qualifications, work experience, location, passport country, and visa purpose. If your purpose is to seek permanent migration, the Offshore Skills Assessment Program or OSAP is commonly for applicants seeking a migration skills assessment while outside Australia or applying through eligible offshore pathways. If your purpose is obtain a temporary skilled migration visa or employer sponsored purposes, the Temporary Skills Shortage or TSS is the assessment program that applies to you.

For OSAP and TSS applicants, the next step is identifying the correct pathway:

  • OSAP & TSS Pathway 1 is for applicants who do not hold a relevant Australian qualification
  • OSAP & TSS Pathway 2 is for applicants who hold a relevant Australian qualification

What assessment pathways does Trade Assess Australia support?

Can I apply if I am outside Australia?

Will I need to attend an interview or practical assessment?

Are assessments conducted in English?
OSAP and TSS assessments are generally conducted in English. Interpreters are not allowed.
What should I do if I cannot attend a scheduled assessment?
Please contact our team as soon as possible. Rescheduling options may depend on notice provided and pathway requirements. Late notice may cause delays.

Outcomes

Does a successful skills assessment guarantee a visa?

No. Skills assessment outcomes are separate from visa decisions. Visa applications are assessed by the relevant government authority.

What happens after a successful outcome?

A successful outcome may be used for eligible migration, employment, licensing, or visa purposes, depending on the relevant authority and current requirements.

Applicants should check current visa or licensing rules separately.

How will I receive my outcome?
